DHISCO's relaunch

It’s hard to believe it’s been more than eight months since we relaunched the world’s “oldest-newest” hospitality distribution company.

When we took over this legacy business, we stepped back and reviewed virtually everything. Then we regrouped, updated and set some ambitious goals. I am now very proud to say that our hard-working team has more than exceeded expectations.

Over the next few months, we will be rolling out updates to everything we do, including the switch that is the heart and core of our business, a smarter cache system, richer content capabilities and a modern framework.

These innovations all were designed with the same goal in mind: to develop an intelligent distribution system for the future, one that makes the hotel booking process faster, more reliable and capable of interpreting much more data—all at a minimal cost to our clients.

The average traveler searches for a hotel 35 times before booking, and looks at thousands of pages of content. So, upgrading our technology to protect hotel computer systems from the growing onslaught of queries from metasearch, mobile technologies and the ever-increasing number of hotel search engines around the world today is a top priority.

We also made things faster. Last month we did 9.4 billion transactions, up from 7 billion to 8 billion back in late 2014. We also cut the speed of the switch from an average of .69 milliseconds to an average of .39 milliseconds. That’s 49 percent faster. And it was already really fast.

So stay tuned. Over the next few months, we will be announcing details of all these exciting advancements that will give DHISCO and its growing list of hotel and distribution partners a solid, affordable technological base to remain competitive now and for many years to come.
